In last week's poll we asked you; what time of the day are you most likely to do an Internet search for your next IT Contract? There were six options from which to choose; before work, morning, lunch time, afternoon, evening and after work. The final result was consistent with the average time logs of emails with CVs and applications, received for our various IT contracts. However, the final result differed greatly from the result after the first two days.

By close of business on Wednesday, the poll results were equally divided between morning, lunch time and evening. There had been no votes for the other options of before work, afternoon or after work. In fact, by close of poll, before work failed to receive any votes and the after work option triumphed, gaining the most votes.

The breakdown of results;
• Before work: 0%
• Morning: 11.1%
• Lunch time: 22.2%
• Afternoon: 5.6%
• Evening: 27.8%
• After work: 33.3%

The good news for employers is that of our candidates queried, the majority of IT professionals search the Internet for their next IT contract outside of work hours with 55.5% searching either during lunch or after work. A further 27.8% search in the evening, which may be after their work is completed and before they go home. Only 18.7% of voters conduct Internet searches during core working hours in the morning or afternoon.

In relation to the above poll, this week's poll asks what time of year candidates are most likely to look for a new IT contract. There are three answers from which to choose; January, June or September. We look forward to receiving your votes!
