Accounts Payable Assistant – 6-Month Contract, Dublin/Belfast/Edinburgh Private Sector

Our Client:

Our client is a leading financial services organisation operating across multiple jurisdictions, providing fund servicing and operational support to a diverse portfolio of fund entities. Due to continued growth and operational demands, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their Finance team on a fixed-term basis.

What’s Involved:

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices across multiple fund entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
• Matching invoices to purchase orders, contracts and approval workflows.
• Coding invoices correctly to general ledger accounts, cost centres and fund structures.
• Resolving invoice discrepancies through liaison with internal teams and external vendors.
• Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs (ACH, wire, SEPA and international transfers).
• Ensuring payments are executed in line with fund mandates, approval matrices and strict cut-off times.
• Reconciling AP subledgers to the general ledger and investigating any variances.
• Monitoring aged payables and supporting cash flow forecasting for fund operations.
• Maintaining complete and audit-ready AP records in line with regulatory standards.
• Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
• Managing vendor relationships and maintaining accurate vendor master data, including compliance with KYC/AML requirements where applicable.
• Assisting with process improvements and AP automation initiatives.

What You Need:

• Previous accounts payable experience, ideally within fund servicing, fund administration, asset management or financial services.
• Strong understanding of invoice workflows, payment processing and AP control frameworks.
• Experience using accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Yardi, Investran or similar.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (preferred).
