Lead Data Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

• Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team and help financial institutions combat fraud and money laundering through cutting-edge data platforms and analytics.
• In this role, you’ll design and evolve a modern Databricks + AWS lakehouse, enabling teams to uncover insights into financial crime and act with confidence.

What is involved:

• Lead the design, build, and optimisation of scalable data pipelines (batch & streaming) using Databricks, Spark, and PySpark
• Architect and govern a robust lakehouse environment (bronze/silver/gold layers, data quality, lineage, and cost control)
• Build secure, compliant AWS data infrastructure (S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, and more)
• Implement orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Databricks Workflows, Step Functions)
• Champion data quality, reliability, and observability best practices
• Drive CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code for data platforms
• Collaborate with data science, product, and compliance teams to deliver impactful data solutions

What you need:

• Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar position
• Strong experience with Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and PySpark
• Proven track record building and optimising large-scale data pipelines
• Deep knowledge of AWS data services and cloud architecture
• Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and compliance requirements
• Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide teams

What’s on offer:

• €650-€700 per day depending on experience
• Hybrid working model- 3 days per week on site
• Highly likely to be extended
