What’s involved:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex customer-facing web applications using React and Angular
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance frontend solutions within an agile engineering environment
- Develop and maintain client-side logic while integrating seamlessly with Spring Boot backend services
- Work with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling to deliver robust application functionality
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following frontend development best practices
- Optimise applications for speed, scalability, performance, and exceptional user experience
- Participate in code reviews, contribute technical feedback, and promote engineering standards
- Troubleshoot frontend issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks across applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders
- Mentor and support junior developers by sharing knowledge, best practices, and technical guidance
- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What you need:
- 3–5+ years’ experience in software engineering / frontend development roles
- Strong commercial experience with React and Angular, including their wider ecosystems
- Strong experience with TypeScript and modern frontend build tools such as Webpack or Babel
- Experience developing complex web applications from the ground up
- Strong understanding of Java and Spring Boot, particularly backend integration and microservices environments
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
- Good understanding of SQL, distributed systems, and troubleshooting application performance issues
- Experience working with Git and modern CI/CD practices
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence within agile delivery teams
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is desirable
- Experience with Kafka/Event Streaming, Kubernetes/OpenShift, GitHub Actions, or performance tuning is highly desirable
- Payments or FinTech industry experience is preferred but not essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
