Our Client:
- Our client is a major retail and commercial bank undergoing a significant modernisation of its UK payments infrastructure. As part of a strategic investment in real-time payments capability, they are building out a next-generation Faster Payments platform and are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to own the end-to-end design.
What's Involved:
- Defining and governing the solution architecture across the bank's UK Faster Payments ecosystem
- Leading design and integration work centred on three core components: the IPF Payments Engine, a Microservices Architecture, and a Semantic Payments Hub
- Ensuring seamless connectivity between upstream customer channels and downstream accounting/finance platforms
- Working cross-functionally with business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and vendor teams
- Delivering a scalable, resilient, real-time payments platform, with a view towards future payment modernisation initiatives beyond Faster Payments
What You Need:
- Proven experience architecting UK Faster Payments solutions (this is not a generic Solution Architect role - genuine scheme-level delivery experience is essential)
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards
- Experience with event-driven architectures and microservices
- Understanding of fraud and compliance controls within payments
- Experience integrating core banking and accounting/finance systems
- Background at a Tier 1 bank, payments platform (e.g. Form3, Vocalink/Mastercard, ACI, Volante), or Big 4 payments consulting practice is highly desirable
- Full working rights to work in Ireland (EU passport, stamp 4 visa etc.)
